Shruti Haasan Biography: Shruti Haasan is an Indian actress and singer was born on 28 January 1986 to Kamal Haasan and Sarika Thakur. Haasan has a younger sister Akshara who is also an actress. Shruti did her schooling from Chennai and graduated from St. Andrew’s College in Psychology. She was always interested in music and cinema and went to the U.S. to learn music at the Musicians Institute in California.

She made her acting debut in 2009 Bollywood movie Luck alongside Imran Khan, Mithun Chakraborty and Sanjay Dutt. She is also the recipient of a number of awards, among them the Filmfare Awards South. She has worked in Bollywood, Kollywood, and Tollywood. She started her career in movies at the age of six as a playback singer in the 1992 Tamil film Thevar Magan, and then made a cameo appearance in her father’s directorial Hey Ram in 2000.
